Rescue Me ID: 16-09-11-00044Dudley (male)

Pug    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Temperament
Health: Vaccinations Current

DUDLEY: 8-9 YEAR OLD PUG GREAT WITH PEOPLE, KIDS, DOGS PARTIALLY POTTY TRAINED We can't say enough good things about our Darling Dudley! He is one of the sweetest, gentlest, and easy going boys we've ever meet. His favorite pastime is being cradled in your arms like a baby while he looks adoringly into your eyes until his eyelids drop and he nods off, snoring and snuffling the whole time. It always makes us smile and our hearts melt. He's the epitome of a 'cuddle bug'. When awake, he's most often found lying on his tummy with his hind legs stretched straight back, watching the shenanigans of the other dogs and the activities ... (Read More)of the people around him. He does like soft, squeaky toys and likes to mouth them and trot around with them, showing off his latest prize. 'D man', as he is affectionately nicknamed, is amicable and co-habitates easily with all dogs, people and children. He doesn't get ruffled and is quite serene. His unassuming and peaceful aura insure that he is easily accepted wherever he goes. Although loved, Dudley didn't receive much needed veterinary care by his previous owners. When we got him, Dudley was suffering from a severe upper respiratory infection and was having great difficulty breathing. He was also covered in fleas and is permanently blind in one eye as a result of chronic untreated infections in it. He's hard of hearing but remains unaffected by this loss; it doesn't bother him a bit. Dudley has some mild congestive heart failure but is recovering well with diuretics and medications which make his condition manageable. Because of his poor health when we obtained him, we've delayed his neuter until Sept. 22nd, at which time he will be officially able to go to a new home. This wonderful and charming little dog is sure to delight and amuse whoever is lucky enough to adopt him. He has so much love to share! Let us know if you'd like to be the lucky parent of Darling Dudley! His adoption fee is $100; he's microchipped and current on vaccinations, and will be neutered on 9/22. Due to the high volume of emails received, we recommend you visit our website and fill out an adoption application. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-09-01-00011Austin (male)

Plott Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. AUSTIN IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HIM, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com****** Austin He has a great personality!! Super chill!! He was a street dog....and in some ways will remain that in his mind. He will eat raw veggies right out of the garden and apples off trees. So, that means if you have tasty veggies and fruit within reach on the counter he will eat them. Tummy- tough as nails!! Austin has seasonal allergies. He currently is taking OTC allergy meds, but as fall is getting here I see he needs more to ease his itchy ears and feet. He takes fish ... (Read More)oil/coconut tablets for his skin...oily yet itchy. Off and on ! His vision is going. About 1/2 gone. Very hard for him to see at night and in shadowy areas. Usually then he just follows his nose. So if you hold out a snack in low light, he tries to see the bite and snaps some times but he can't really see it at night time or in dim light. People think he is being mean, but he's not. We/vet, think he has had some eye trauma. And some cataracts developing. This has had no negative influence on his disposition. His life is complete with a comfy bed and good food and snacks. He does not realize how solid he is so when he leans on your lap he's a lap full. Austin loves his soft bed. And does not think it is a toy! He does like to play with you and chasing toys and tossing them around. Plothound Mix @9yrs old.(we really don't know) A forever young kinda fellow! I have had Austin since the spring of 2012. He came on a rescue transport from Ohio. I was his temp foster for another rescue, who signed for him. But once they realized he was a mature street dog and it would take some time to be house trained, they sent him back to me. Current on shots/negative HW. Adoption guidelines: I require a home visit to observe what the home living environment will be with you. I require a vet reference. 100.00 adoption fee I have found that my dogs do best when potential adopters give of their time and come to visit at least twice and hang out and walk with them and mingle and get to know them well. Especially, with the big boys and girls...can people handle a medium to large dog. And a signed contract that DSR dogs will be returned to me and Doggies Serious Rescue if it does not work out, in any time frame. (Less)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: High Energy
Health: Vaccinations Current

***PLEASE NOTE -- THIS IS A COURTESY POST. HARVEY IS WITH ANOTHER RESCUE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING HIM, PLEASE EMAIL: lisa@hotblownglass.com****** Harvey Harvey-bagarvey-tooturally!! This super energetic happy go lucky fellow gets his bounding fun-loving nature from his husky/hound/pitty mixology. Harvey sure is a handsome fellow that LOVES to play with his foster siblings. He will play with whoever wants to play. His enthusiasm keeps from a serious long-term training session. We are still working on some counter surfing. He enjoys looking at what I have up there but doesn't take anything down. When Harvey first arrived on a ... (Read More)rescue transport out of Georgia, he seemed extremely thin. But having filled out, it is just his breed mix and energy level that keeps him having such a handsome physique. Harvey has overcome his crating issues, he is okay with going in and having down time, (but without bedding) Bedding is a great tugowar material. He also had to learn his collar was an okay thing! On occasion is seems as though he remembers that some had treated him badly having to do with his collar. Now, it's all excitement about the collar and leash to go for a walk. With him being part husky he will need a large fenced yard to burn off his energy. A short walk in the evening will not do!! Harvey weighs @60lbs. and is 1-2yrs old. I send all my dogs out current on shots. He is neutered and microchipped. Heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm preventative. He keeps a close eye on what's outside the fence and will sound the alarm and let you know he sees 'it'. Unknown-what he thinks about cats. He is okay with small dogs with a good introduction. Harvey has no food aggression issues. He waits for snacks with his buddies. While I work at the counterČ'Ř|he is a leaner, leaning against the back or side of my leg. Adoption guidelines: I require a home visit to observe what the home living environment will be with you. WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR POTENTIAL ADOPTERS WHO RESIDE IN INDIANA OR BORDERING STATES. *****DIO MUST HAVE A 6 FOOT PRIVACY FENCE AS HE CAN JUMP ANYTHING SMALLER. ALSO, A HOME WITHOUT MALE DOGS IS A MUST.****** DIO: 2 YR OLD WOLFHOUND/LAB MIX Great with all people & kids Okay with female dogs; not males partially potty trained Dio is such a handsome boy! His unique ... (Read More)good looks insure that he is noticed wherever he goes; he loves people so adores all the attention he gets. He definitely is a social butterfly! Because he was dumped in a rural subdivision, he has some mild separation anxiety. He doesn't get destructive but would be happiest in a home where someone is home with him the majority of the time. Because of his past abandonment, he worries that his people will never come back for him. Dio does best with female dogs; male dogs seem to be very reactive to him, probably because of his large stature combined with a somewhat dominant disposition. He would be fine as an only dog since people are what he is most interested in and he would thrive in a home where he was able to get all the attention he craves. Dio is truly an amazing boy; whoever adopts him is going to be very lucky indeed! His adoption fee is $200; he's neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. (Less)

(Read More)housetrained. She does great with other dogs. She hasn't been around cats, but I don't see her having any problems at all with them. She has limited eyesight and hearing, so a home without small children will be best. She doesn't have any separation anxiety as far as if you have to leave her alone in the house. Now, when it's bedtime, she would prefer to lay in her dog bed on the floor next to your bed. If you can deal with an occasional doggie snore, we can't see that being a problem. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)

Angel - 13 year old female Shih Tzu. Approximately 15 lbs. Housetrained. Up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! Angel is a really sweet older girl. Her previous owner was elderly and unable to continue to care for her. She spends most of her day sleeping. She wants nothing more than to follow you ... (Read More)around and sleep at your feet or in your lap. She is good with dogs, cats, birds and even chickens but would prefer to be an only fur child. She's never had to share her person, bed or food with other dogs or kids but is doing great on all accounts in her foster home. She is easily spooked possibly due to a bit of hearing loss so we recommend a home without children as a precaution. She is fully house trained and walks well on a leash. She loves car rides! Angel would do best in a home where she is not left alone for long periods of time as she has always been in a home where her owner is home most of the day. Angel does have a long history of environmental allergies and arthritis. Both of these are very easily managed with proper medication and diet. We also ran extensive bloodwork recently and the veterinarian said she is great health for her age! Also, due to her breed she does require regular grooming. This sweet girl just needs someone to love her through her golden years! (Less)

Beagle    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

BILL: 8-9 YEAR OLD BEAGLE GREAT WITH OTHER DOGS, ADULTS, OLDER KIDS NOT POTTY TRAINED 'Our Bill is such a funny, quirky little guy. He always wants to know what is going on around him and can consistently be found right in the middle of all the activity ... eyes bright and inquisitive, tail wagging ... eager to discover what all the excitement is about. Bill trots around as he keeps track of the antics of his doggy pals as well as the endeavors of his human friends. Because of his bowed frown legs, his gait is unique and adorable ... he looks like a grizzled old cowboy who's ridden one to many horses! It's impossible not to ... (Read More)smile as you watch him scuttle around in his efforts to keep track of all the proceedings. Because of his inquisitive and social nature, Bill doesn't like to be shut away from the action or his people and will raise a bit of a fuss to let you know he's not happy. But as soon as the impeding gate or door is opened, and he can once again commence his explorations, he's perfectly content. He's entertaining to say the least. Bill is affable and gets along well with other dogs. Although he isn't interested in rough housing, he does enjoy gentle play with his friends. Although he wants to be nearby his people, he is not overly needy and doesn't have to receive attention continually. But if you take the time to scratch his rump and tickle under his chin, Bill relishes the affection. Bill came to us with a chronic and serious infection in both of his ears which had gone untreated for a long time; he was in excruciating pain, poor boy! Because of this, he is wary of having his ears touched and will yelp and pull away if he thinks they are going to be handled. For this reason, we don't recommend that he be in a home with children under 10 years of age. Although partially potty trained, William hasn't quite grasped the concept that should only take care of business outside so will need some patience and consistency to achieve fully house broken status. If you'd like to give this charming, eccentric fellow the 'forever home' he deserves, don't hesitate to contact us. Bill's adoption fee is $100; he's neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations.' He does occasionally take a dislike to a person; we haven't figured out yet what bothers him but he barks and doesn't want the individual to handle him. For this reason, we recommend that he not be placed in a home with young children. He would thrive in an environment where he had a playful companion as well as consistent love and affection. Chip's adoption fee is $150; he's microchipped, neutered and current on vaccinations. This does not obligate you to adopt, it just helps us determine if a certain dog is a good fit for your household. Adoption applications can be found at www.waldosmuttleycrew.org. Thank you! (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-03-06-00322Baxter (male)

Shih Tzu Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baxter. 7 year old male shih tzu mix. 17 lbs. Up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. Working on house training. Adoption fee $150.00 Baxter is definitely a snuggle bug! He takes great pleasure in being held tight and getting nuzzled. He'll nestle closely against you for as long as you'll let him. It's impossible to not cuddle him like a baby ... and he'll relish every minute of it. His eyelid (he only has one!) will start drooping and pretty soon he'll be snoring happily away. Baxter is good with most dogs; however, we've noticed that he doesn't like to share attention with male dogs. If you start petting another ... (Read More)male rather than Baxter, he will give the evil eye (literally - remember he only has one!) and step up close to the interloper to discourage the intrusion. He doesn't mind sharing affection with female dogs...he just likes to be the king pin when adoration and fondness are being doled out. Otherwise he cohabitates easily with most dogs; he doesn't really play with them. He's much more of a 'people dog'. Baxter is mostly potty trained but, since he's been in a kennel environment, will need a bit of remedial training. Rescue Me ID: 15-09-28-00381Rumor (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Rumor: 2 year old pug/chihuahua 18 lbs Good with dogs, people and children over 12. Fee $150 *** Special needs 'Rumor is feisty, frisky and fun! She's extremely smart and inquisitive. She always wants to see what you're doing; if you open the refrigerator, she's got her little head in the door, looking to see what's good to eat. If you get into the dryer, she likes to come see what clothes you are going to fold. If you open your wallet, she'll come over to see how much money you've got and ask if she can borrow a credit card! She constantly keeps us laughing at her antics. Rumor adores toys and much of her time ... (Read More)is spent tearing around the house at full speed, toy in mouth, shaking her head vigorously in order to 'slay the savage beast'. And when she's achieved this, she looks up to make sure you are watching! She loves an audience! Rumor gets along well with other dogs but really isn't interested in them; she becomes so captivated by toys and keeping track of what her 'people' are doing that she generally is oblivious to what the other animals are doing. Rumor does have a medical condition which will require some attention. We affectionately call it the 'angry butt syndrome'. She has a psychological condition (almost an obsessive compulsive mannerism) which began as a reaction to a recurrent painful physical state and then became a habit which was exacerbated by stress in her previous environment. When Rumor gets agitated or upset, she attacks her own bottom .. growling and twisting in tight circles. When we got her, Rumor had horribly swollen anal glands and severe skin infections on her hind quarters due to long term exposure to flea bites. Per our vet, her 'butt biting' behavior began as an attempt to 'get at' whatever was hurting her in the nether regions; then, over time, this action became a habit and her way of alleviating stress. Treatment involves behavior modification by distracting Rumor from the growling, circling behavior when it starts and involves praise and attention when the action is stopped. She is also receiving Prozac to help alleviate anxiety while she learns to cope in other ways. Most of the time, Rumor presents as a normal, happy little girl; but when she becomes unsettled, the 'butt attacks' become more prevalent. For this reason, we recommend that she not be placed in a home with children as she needs structure and quiet in order to heal. Despite her quirk, Rumor is a joy to have around. She's a constant source of amusement and is sure to keep you laughing! If you'd like to adopt this darling, please let us know. Her adoption fee is $150; she's spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm/flea preventative.' (Less)

It's not just his docility that attracts people to him; he's a bit of a clown as well! He's rather clumsy and tends to trip a lot; he just doesn't always know where his legs are going. His asymmetrical ... (Read More)face will make you chuckle; when you're talking to him, he cocks his head and his ears perk up and you just know he's about to say something silly in response. Henry loves toys and can keep himself entertained for hours, just tossing them around and chasing them. He relishes lounging on beds and lying in the sunshine, interspersed with perimeter patrol of the yard while checking for pesky squirrels and chewing on his toys. He hasn't had the easiest life; his original owner kept him outdoors and abused him. As a result, he's a bit shy and can be fearful of men. Henry is still adjusting to experiencing new things - like car rides and gentle caresses - but is learning the joy of feeling the wind in his face and having his ears scratched. When we got him, Henry tested positive for heartworms but has gone through full treatment and is doing very well now. German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Not Good with Cats
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive

Rue is a female, 2 year old, German Shepherd. Good with dogs, but not cats. Housetrained. Would do best in a home without small children. She's spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Rue is an affectionate and charming girl who has a zest for life that is contagious. She loves toys, racing around the yard at full speed and wrestling with her doggy friends. Going on long walks and exploring her surroundings are also favorite pastimes. Rue is quite demonstrative and, when getting attention, wags her tail so hard that she looks like she's doing the shimmy. Like most german shepherds, Rue is very loyal to her family and can ... (Read More)be a bit hesitant when first meeting people, especially men. HoweveaRUE: 2 YEAR OLD GERMAN SHEPHERD CROSS Good with most adults but somewhat leery of men. Good with kids and other dogs. Potty trained. Two year old German Shepherd, Rue, has so much love and affection to share. She's just looking for that special someone who will give her the great home she deserves. She came to us as a scared and tremulous girl who'd obviously been beaten frequently in her past. As a result, she was terrified of men and strange situations. We've had the pleasure of watching Rue grow in confidence and her personality blossom as she's received consistent kindness, patience and positive reinforcement. Although still somewhat leery of men, she now quickly warms up to women and very much likes children. And her fears in relation to new places and men have dissipated to a great degree. We are so very proud of Rue! She adores being hugged and petted and praised; she's very sensitive so loud voices or scolding demoralize her in no time. Because she didn't experience affirmation in her previous life, she relishes every moment that she's getting the attention she craves. Rue is great with other dogs and savors her time spent running, chasing and wrestling with her canine companions. She's also an avid lover of water so is often found splashing in her pool. Rue's perfect home would have a fenced-in yard with an active, confident doggy sibling who would show her that the world and people are a safe place. Her adoption fee is $150; she's spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations. Due to the high volume of emails received, we recommend you visit our website and fill out an adoption application.
